"1st car" is a resident's first car (Tier 1). "Others" depends on the zone; check it with HDB's availability search.5

Apply

Use HDB's season parking e-service. At busy car parks, first cars book from the 1st of the month, second cars from the 18th, others from the 21st.5

Renew

From the 1st of the month before, by e-service or AXS, or auto-renew by GIRO (2% rebate) or credit card on the 18th. You pay the full month whenever you renew.6

Transfer or change car

Permanent transfer for a new block or vehicle; temporary transfer for up to 31 days. A dearer car park needs a top-up; a cheaper one gets no refund.7

Questions

How much is HDB parking per hour?

Outside the Central Area, $0.60 per half-hour, which is $1.20 an hour. In the Central Area, $1.20 per half-hour from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday, and $0.60 per half-hour at other times. 12 busy car parks charge more during their peak hours: $0.80 per half-hour, or $1.40 in the Central Area's daytime hours.

What is the grace period at HDB car parks?

HDB says all of its electronic (gantry) car parks give a 15-minute grace period: you are not charged if you exit within 15 minutes of entering.

Is HDB parking free on Sundays and public holidays?

At most HDB car parks, yes. Under HDB's Free Parking Scheme, parking is free from 7 am to 10:30 pm on Sundays and public holidays. HDB's data lists 1,686 car parks in the scheme: 1,675 free from 7 am and 11 free only from 1 pm. The scheme does not cover lots reserved for season parking holders, which are marked with red or red-and-white lines. Look for the orange sign plate at the car park entrance.

What is the maximum HDB parking charge for a day or a night?

At car parks on the Night Parking Scheme, parking from 10:30 pm to 7 am is capped at $5, and a full 24 hours from 7 am is capped at $12 outside the Central Area and $20 inside it. At car parks without night parking, the day from 7 am to 10:30 pm is capped at the same $12 or $20. The caps do not apply at car parks with peak-hour charges.

How much is HDB season parking for a car?

For a resident’s first car (Tier 1), $80 a month at a surface car park and $110 at a sheltered one, such as a multi-storey car park ($95 in a Special Precinct). Second and later cars, and non-residents (Tier 2), pay $90 to $190 depending on where the car park is and whether it is sheltered.
