Privacy policy

Plain English, kept short: here's what EVolt.SG does — and doesn't do — with your data.

The website

EVolt.SG is a static site. There's no account to create and nothing to sign in to. We use Google Analytics for visit and product interaction statistics — which pages help, whether a search or filter is used, and whether someone follows an App Store or directions link. We don't send search text, charger IDs or precise location to Analytics, and we don't use the events for advertising or personalisation. Charger availability and pricing come from LTA DataMall; EVolt.SG is not affiliated with or endorsed by LTA.

The EVolt.SG apps — iPhone and Android

Both apps work the same way. Your location stays on your phone — each app uses it to sort chargers by distance, and if you switch on a "when I'm nearby" alert for a favourite, your phone itself notices when you're close and shows the notification. Your location is never sent to us or anyone else.

Favourites live on your device. On iPhone they also sync between your devices through your personal iCloud, which we can't read; on Android they simply stay on the phone. Notifications are the one thing that needs our server: when you set a "Notify me" alert on a charger, turn on a favourite alert (last slot or price changes), or subscribe to the weekly digest, the app stores your device's push token — and for favourite alerts, which chargers you chose — solely to deliver those notifications. Slot-watch alerts expire on their own after 12 hours; everything else stays on only until you switch it off, and turning it off removes what we stored.

To understand which features are useful, the apps keep simple usage statistics through Google Analytics for Firebase — things like which screens get opened and which controls are used. Analytics assigns the app installation a random identifier and receives general app, device, and coarse-region information. We don't send your search text, charger IDs, or precise location, and we disable advertising identifiers and ad personalisation. No ads, no accounts, no advertising tracking.
